AC Milan eyeing a move for Serie A duo to solve their attacking problems

AC Milan are on the lookout for a right-winger and the Euros have been their perfect scout. Major tournaments like the Euros and the World Cup bring out the best version of players. James Rodrigues carrying Columbia single-handedly in the 2014 World Cup is something no football fan would ever forget.

Mikkel Damsgaard and Domenico Berardi have shown the world the havoc that they can cause to any team. Steaming down the wings, ankle-breaking defenders, and directing venomous strikes at goal. That’s just everything you need a winger to do. AC Milan were close to winning the Serie A last season but injuries and struggling second fiddles dampened their hopes.

The Rossoneri have been very active this transfer window. With the departures of Hakan Calhanoglu and Gianluigi Donnarumma looming over their heads, Milan are inspecting every deal under the sun. The board has named the positions they want to strengthen, hoping to introduce more impactful subs.

AC Milan target Euro Stars

Berardi and Damsgaard are having a blast at the Euros. The wingers have been pivotal for the success of their respective teams. Their value is expected to increase after the Euros. AC Milan is planning to make at least 6-7 signings and cannot spend €40 million on each player. Thus, a normal deal does not seem plausible.

Damsgaard, the younger of the two is just 20 and a move to AC Milan will be a stepping stone in his career. Berardi on the other hand has been loyal to Sassuolo and his performance at the Euros suggests that he needs to make a move to establish himself in the wider spectrum.

Plan of action

The Milan outfit are planning to include some counterparts in a bid to reduce the transfer fee. Andrea Conti, Mattia Caldara, Rade Krunic, Sandro Tonali are just a few to name that may be used as a part of the deal.

Damsgaard is the more obvious option considering his age and versatility. However, Berardi has spent his entire career in Serie A being a more regular player.
