Adarabioyo to join Wolves on deadline day

FINANCIAL FAIR PLAY

Wolverhampton Wanderers are eyeing to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham. Wolves are looking to add the defender with just hours left for the transfer window to close.

Recently reports came that the Premier League side was looking to sign Sven Botman from Lille. However, the move collapsed and the Wolves are looking at Adarabioyo as a defensive option.

Adarabioyo was part of the Fulham side that was relegated from the Premier League that season. With a contract till 2023, it is still not sure if Wolves will be able to land their target.

ADARABIOYO ONE OF THE MANY TARGET FOR WOLVES

Wolves were in the market for a central defender in this window. The club had a bid for Sven Botman rejected. Lille wanted £35 million for their Dutch star. But the Premier League side was not ready to meet their demands.

Currently, the squad have Willy Boly, Roman Saiss and Conor Coady as their main centre-backs alongside Max Kilman. Both Boly and Saiss are in their 30s and it is important to freshen up the squad. This meant that the club had to shift their focus from Botman to Adarabioyo.

Tosin Adarabioyo is an English talent that will help in meeting the home-grown quota. The 23-year-old was part of the Manchester City youth system. He went on loan to West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers in the Championship before joining Fulham on a permanent deal in 2020.

Though the Cottagers underwent relegation, Adarabioyo was one of the good performers of the side. He has played 33 times for them in the Premier League. A tall defender, he is good in the air and also likes to play the ball out from the back. It is yet to be seen if Wolves can complete the signing before the deadline.
