Arthur is struggling to adapt at Liverpool and could return to Juventus

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Liverpool have signed Brazilian midfielder Arthur from Juventus on a season-long loan deal this summer. The Reds wanted to bolster their midfield before the closure of the transfer window as they have struggled at the start of this season.

James Milner has underperformed in the matches that he has started and Jordan Henderson has also struggled to stay fit consistently. Meanwhile, Thiago and Naby Keita are struggling with major injuries leaving Jurgen Klopp in trouble. In an attempt to sort out the situation in midfield, the club temporarily signed Arthur from Juventus.

The Brazilian has failed to make the impact that was expected of him since his arrival. Arthur has failed to start even one game since his loan deal. The midfielder played a cameo against Napoli wherein the Italian club’s midfield ran riot over Liverpool. He has not adapted well to the pace of the Premier League and could possibly be sent back in January.

Liverpool will not hesitate in canceling the Arthur loan deal prematurely

Liverpool were linked with a number of midfielders across Europe in this transfer window. Aurelien Tchouameni was one of the targets for the Reds, however, he chose to sign for Real Madrid instead. After not signing any midfielder before the start of the season, Liverpool eventually settled for Arthur on a loan deal.

However, the club is considering canceling the loan deal prematurely in the January transfer window. The player has failed to impress manager, Jurgen Klopp and is unable to imbibe the heavy metal football. Liverpool could potentially look for alternatives in the January transfer window and send Arthur back to Juventus.

It will be a major dent in the confidence of the Brazilian midfielder who needs a fresh start to rejuvenate his career. However, Premier League seems a little too much for the midfielder right now. The player should seek to make a permanent move away from Juventus to a smaller club in search of regular football and reduced pressure. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if he will be able to make some impact in Liverpool and turn his season around!!
