Barcelona could overcome the financial difficulties with an €840m boost

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

The Blaugrana are currently struggling with financial difficulties. As they are unable to register any player at the moment due to La Liga’s strict FFP rule. Meanwhile, the Catalan giants are looking to cash in on some of their stars in order to balance their book and sign some new faces.

Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie have already agreed to join Barcelona next summer. But, the deal is currently on hold. While Xavi’s side are also eyeing strengthening different areas in their squad. Robert Lewandowski, Marcos Alonso, and Cesar Azpilicueta are on their wishlist.

Frenkie De Jong is one of the players who is heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou. Manchester United are reportedly showing interest. And the two clubs are currently negotiating a potential transfer. The Blaugrana are asking for around €85 million.

Barcelona looking to find every possible way to overcome their financial difficulties:

The report in Sport is claiming that the directive convenes an Extraordinary Assembly of Delegates for June 16. The meeting will be telematic and if the delegates permit the board to obtain €840 million. It will help Blaugrana to reverse their financial situation.

The board will ask the delegates for authorization to sell to one or more investors a minority stake in the company Barça Licensing & Merchandising SL (BLM). The sale may be for a maximum of 49.9% of the value of the company. Barcelona have been working on this deal for quite a while. And they will get €300 million if this goes through.

The Catalan giants will also ask permission to assign up to 25% of the television rights of the competition organized by LaLiga to one or more investors and/or obtain financing based on the aforementioned rights. Everything is on track for Barça to end up allying with LaLiga and CVC. A loan of 270 million euros will be signed at a zero interest rate that will be computed as equity.

To these two levers. The sale of 49% of Barça Studios may be added when the board considers it appropriate. An operation for which the board has already obtained permission from the Assembly.

All these operations will allow Barça to channel its more than weakened economic situation. And be able to sign this summer. In fact, just by reaching an agreement with CVC. And entering LaLiga Impulse, Barça will already be able to invest 40 million euros in the squad this summer. Despite having exceeded the salary limit.
