Brandon Williams told to leave Man United in the summer

Manchester United

Brandon Williams is set to leave Manchester United this summer after he was told he is free to find a new club.

The full-back is out of contract at the end of June. Having spent the season on loan at Ipswich Town as they secured promotion from the Championship.

Williams, still just 23, played a bit-part role with only 15 appearances in the second tier this season. It has become clear that he no longer has a future at Old Trafford.

He has also been surrounded by controversy of late for his antics off the field, having been handed a driving ban.

With yet another busy summer expected, Williams could be just one of many exits. He’s one of many players among Casemiro and Antony, who sources say they are willing to take a loss on.

Brandon Williams to leave United this summer

With Williams’ contract set to run out this summer and no new deal on the horizon, he will have to begin searching for new clubs. With his current loan club Ipswich also looking unlikely to extend his deal beyond this season.

A possible option to buy had been discussed with Ipswich, but no deal was struck.

However, his 15 Championship appearances have seen him fail to feature for the Tractor Boys since December. After he was sent back to Carrington to recover an unnamed injury blow.

There had been high hopes for the full-back after a breakthrough season in the 2020-21 season. With the club blocking any talk of an exit. Although he has so far failed to reach that potential.

Seemingly constant issues with the law also paint the club in a bad light. Manchester United will be keen to avoid any further damage to their public image after recent controversies.
