According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Everton is in the market for Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen in the coming summer transfer window.

Carlo Ancelotti, the current Everton manager, wants to strengthen his squad for the coming season and is interested in Diaby. The young winger will offer much-needed energy and invention up top for the Toffees.

DRIBBLER DIABY

Moussa Diaby is a PSG academy product who is a regular at the French youth setup, currently playing for the French U21 team. However, the winger was not able to get minutes in a talented PSG team and decided to move away. He made his move to Germany and joined Bayer Leverkusen.

The French winger has impressed in his time at Leverkusen. He has stepped up his performance this season, scoring 10 and assisting 15 goals for his club in all competitions. At 21, Diaby still has time to develop.

An excellent dribbler of the ball Diaby is very quick with his feet. He can play in both wings, though prefers the left-wing. He is also an excellent passer of the ball, however lacks in terms of his defensive output. While his finishing needs improvement, his creative numbers are excellent.

COULD EVERTON LAND DIABY?

For Everton, Diaby offers an excellent long-term option. Turning 22 this July, his age profile and creative ability will provide Ancellotti with more options going forward. Having scored only 46 goals in the Premier League this season, Everton needs more firepower in the top.

Diaby is contracted with Leverkusen till 2025 and hence they will be in no hurry to sell him. However, Everton has made initial contact with the player’s representative and the responses are positive. The possibility to play under Ancelotti and play in Premier League could finally help Everton to land Diaby this summer.
