Florenzi will leave Roma amid Inter interest

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AS Roma defender Alessandro Florenzi has reportedly been transferred listed by new manager José Mourinho and Inter Milan are reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation as per the report in Italy.

The Giallorossi bought the 30-year-old back in 2012 for €1.3 million. The Italian can play right-back as well as in right-wing spot. He spent the last season on loan at Paris Saint-Germain. However, it looks like the new legendary Portuguese manager does not fancy the Italy international in his squad.

Following the departure of Achraf Hakimi, the Nerazzurri are in the market for a new wing-back. The reigning Serie A champions are linked with a move for Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin. And they have also shortlisted the 30-year-old Italy international.

Roma management are in the market to fulfil Mourinho’s demands and in order to achieve that they will have to sell players to fund the transfer budget. Cashing in on those players who are not in the Portuguese’s plan makes a lot of sense.

Inter want Roma defender Alessandro Florenzi:

According to the report, Roma are looking to offload Florenzi this summer at around €7 million fees. The defender is also willing to move away from the Italian capital as the right-back does not fancy himself playing as a second fiddle for the Giallorossi.

The report further claims that Inter will get competitions from fellow Italian club Fiorentina for the 30-year-old’s service. There are also interests from La Liga and Ligue 1 as Sevilla and Olympique Lyonnais are monitoring the situation.

Cashing in on Florenzi would be the right decision from Roma as they are looking to generate some extra money from players selling and Inter will be a very good destination for the Italian. The defender is excellent going forward and playing as a wing-back will be the perfect system for the 30-year-old.

However, the defender has struggled with his injury problems in recent times. Florenzi had to remain sidelined for the entire European Championship, having been involved in just 45 minutes in the opening fixtures of the competition against Turkey. So, signing Florenzi from Roma could be a risky move for Inter. But, the mentioned fee is pretty good to take a gamble on an experienced campaigner like the Italian international.
