Chelsea adamant on selling out Romelu Lukaku upcoming summer

Chelsea is reportedly confident about permanently parting ways with Romelu Lukaku next summer. That is after sending him on loan to AS Roma. Lukaku has enjoyed a strong start to his stint with the Serie A outfit.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea fixed a price of around £37 million for Romelu Lukaku. This price is reasonable. Meanwhile, Chelsea will accept it without engaging in further negotiations.

Romelu Lukaku, the 30-year-old striker, has been in excellent form for both his club and country this season. He has scored six goals so far, and during the November international break, he impressively netted four goals against Azerbaijan on Sunday.

Romelu Lukaku’s improving form is seen as a positive factor for Chelsea. Since, they aim to sell him at a satisfactory price. Reportedly, Roma is now willing to meet the amount Chelsea has set for Lukaku, making the prospect of a deal more likely.

Will AS Roma recruit Chelsea loanee permanently?

Jose Mourinho is reportedly showing interest in bringing Romelu Lukaku to Roma. However, there is uncertainty regarding Mourinho’s future as the manager of the Serie A club. Lukaku, signed as Tammy Abraham’s replacement, has been in sensational form, and Chelsea hopes he will maintain this level of performance throughout the season.

With the potential departure of Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea will seek another striker. In either the upcoming January transfer window or the subsequent summer window. Addressing goal-scoring issues, Chelsea aims to secure an established center-forward to strengthen their attacking options.

Romelu Lukaku has been delivering exceptional performances for both Roma and the Belgium national team. If he maintains this level of play, it could make selling him more straightforward as teams might be interested in acquiring a striker in his prime. However, considering the uncertainty around Jose Mourinho’s tenure at Roma, there’s speculation about potential changes in Lukaku’s decision to stay with the club in the summer of 2024. Similar to his departure from Inter Milan, there’s a possibility of a reversal in his choice. And the situation will unfold in the coming months.
