Jamshedpur FC releases their captain Eli Sabia

Jamshedpur FC have parted ways with captain Eli Sabia who has decided to leave the club after two fruitful years. Eli Sabia being 6’2” from Brazil used to play at the centre-back position for the Red Miners. His valiant structure at the back was the driving force for Jamshedpur FC.

During his stint at Chennaiyin FC, he formed a stronged partnership alongside Lucias Goian during their run to the Hero ISL Final. He continued to stay with the Marina Machans till the end of the season 2020-21. Eli Sabia joined the Red Miners from Chennaiyin FC in 2021. He helped Jamshedpur FC lift the Indian Super League Winners’ Shield. Moreover he was one of their most consistent players over the last two seasons.

STATS FOR THE SEASON 2022-23

Playing 15 matches he had a passing accuracy of around 83.26% and booked 4 times. He could not manage to convert any into the box this season. Eli Sabia capped 33 times for Jamshedpur FC in the ISL and was a leader at the back. He took over the captaincy after the departure of Peter Hartley and was a big presence in the Jamshedpur FC rearguard.
