Juventus join the race for departing Arsenal ace in the summer

Juventus have entered the race to sign Arsenal’s Spanish left-back, Hector Bellerin, in the upcoming summer transfer window. He has a contract with Arsenal until June 2023. However, he is looking for an exit door from the Emirates Stadium at the end of this season.

Bellerin joined Arsenal from the famous youth academy of Barcelona La Masía in 2011. The 26-year-old Spanish defender quickly rose through the ranks at the Emirates. He made his debut for the club in 2013 at the age of just 17. He started his career brilliantly in North London but his fitness issues hindered his growth.

The Arsenal defender made 180 appearances for the club since joining in 2011. He has marked his career with 8 goals for the Gunners.

Can Juventus land Bellerin in Turin?

Juventus are struggling with their wing-back position as they got only Danilo for the right-back role. Juan Cuadrado played a few games there as well but he is not a natural right-back.

Barcelona were previously leading the race to sign the Spanish right-back. However, they weren’t the only ones as PSG also expressed an interest in Bellerin in the last few months. Arsenal will also be desperately looking to keep hold of their star player as they look to provide Mikel Arteta with a squad that will challenge for the Premier League title.

Bellerin has a market value of €25 million. So, whoever wants to buy the Spaniard might have to pay around €30 million as he has two years remaining in his contract.

It won’t be easy for the Bianconeri to buy Bellerin as there is real competition for the right-back this summer and Juventus will have to show great skill to land Bellerin in Turin. They might have to sell off some deadwood to make space in their wage bill as well.
