It seems as though Manchester City can’t enjoy a fully fit squad for five minutes before an affliction strikes them again.
Manchester City welcomed Erling Haaland back to the fold on Sunday in the 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest after being without the striker for two matches.
The Norwegian suffered a slight knock but scored on his return from off the bench and is eager to get back into the starting XI.
Haaland said, via the Manchester Evening News:
“I’m ready.
“I had a bit of a problem and it’s not nice to bounce back when we went out to Madrid in the Champions League.
“It’s been scratching inside of me to get back and now I’m back and feeling good. I’m ready to attack the last five finals.”
However, Pep Guardiola now looks to have lost his goalkeeper Ederson while Phil Foden and Ruben Dias missed Sunday’s game.
Here is all the latest on the injury front and when the players could be back.
Manchester City injury update:
Ederson was taken off at half-time against Forest after earlier receiving treatment on the pitch.
An official prognosis has yet to be given but it doesn’t sound promising for the goalkeeper.
Guardiola said in his post-match press conference:
“It doesn’t look good. We see tomorrow with the doctor.”
His potential return date is still unknown.
City’s Player of the Season had to sit out Sunday’s game after being hit with a bout of illness. But thankfully he should be back for the weekend.
Guardiola told Match of the Day:
“Phil said today that he doesn’t feel good so that is why he couldn’t be with us.”
Ruben Dias also missed the game due to illness after coming down with a fever over the last week but should be back in action to face Wolves at the weekend.
Guardiola told Match of the Day:
“Ruben had a fever and made the effort to go to Brighton but since coming back from there it has gotten worse.
