Manchester United and City join Barcelona in Dani Olmo race

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo is garnering interest from England as both Manchester United and Manchester City have entered the race for his signature. The Spaniard has been impressive in Germany and is regularly linked with a move back to his former club FC Barcelona.

The latest development around Dani Olmo comes from SportBild journalist Christian Falk. According to him, Manchester United and City will move in for the 23-year-old, if Barcelona can’t afford him.

Falk also suggests that Manchester United have sent scouts to monitor Olmo in action very recently. He also does not overrule the possibility of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola looking to sign the Spaniard.

MANCHESTER CLUBS LEAD THE OLMO RACE

Dani Olmo was a product of La Masia but later made his move to Dinamo Zagreb in 2015 to earn more playing time. His time at Zagreb was fruitful as he started to get the attention of top clubs across Europe. However, it was RB Leipzig that won his signature.

Ever since his move Olmo has been a regular at Leipzig. He has appeared 64 times for them in all competitions and has scored 12 goals for them. Olmo is a very versatile player as he can be seen featured in multiple attacking positions. His form with the club also made him a regular for the Spain national side.

Barcelona has been looking to bring back Olmo for some time now. However, with a tough financial situation, it will be very hard for them to meet Leipzig’s asking price. This of course will give space for the Manchester sides to come in front of the race for his signature.

Christian Falk reports that both City and United are interested in Olmo and the Premier League does look like his possible next destination. Olmo still has a contract with Leipzig till 2024. So the Manchester clubs will have to pay well to make the move happen.
