Manchester United and Liverpool chasing Torino star

Manchester United and Liverpool are ready to go head-to-head for the race to sign Torino forward Andrea Belotti in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old Italian forward is in pretty good form with Torino. Even though his team is battling to remain in the Serie A. The Italian international has made 29 appearances in Serie A, managed to score twelve times and assisted seven occasions for the Toro this season.

Manchester United and Liverpool both are looking to bring a new striker in the summer. Roberto Firmino has been having a bad season. And Manchester United also want a new striker as the future of Edinson Cavani is still unclear. So, both the English giants have shortlisted Belotti as one of the targets for the number nine spot.

Liverpool and Manchester United to battle for Belotti

According to reports, Manchester United and Liverpool both have shown interest to sign the Torino forward Andrea Belotti in the summer window.

Chelsea are also monitoring the situation of Belotti with Torino. Other clubs like Lyon, Tottenham Hotspur, Fiorentina, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli and Rome all are in the race to sign Belotti from Torino.

Torino bought Belotti from Palermo in August 2015 for €8.4 million. Since his arrival from Palermo, the 27-year-old creative forward has scored 104 goals in 222 appearances in all competitions. Belotti’s current contract will expire in June 2022. So, he will be available for just about €25 million despite having a €100 million release clause in his contract.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Andrea Belotti. However, one thing is pretty sure that he won’t play for Torino in the next season. Manchester United and Liverpool need a centre forward and Belotti can be a perfect option for the number nine position.
