According to a report by AS, Manchester United are willing to offer Paul Pogba to Real Madrid to sign Raphael Varane. United have already got their hands on right-winger Jadon Sancho after spending almost €70 million. But they still need a center-back for next season after their poor backline form last season.
Manchester United have been in close contact with the Real Madrid camp to sign Raphael Varane this summer. The Frenchman has one year left in the contract at Madrid but desires to get on some new challenge next season. However, Madrid are not ready to let go of their star center-back so easily.
Real Madrid have already lost Sergio Ramos this summer, who was a rock for the Whites at the backline. Ramos left the club as a free agent after failing to agree on the terms of a new contract. And Madrid are in a denial position regarding the situation of Raphael Varane after Ramos departed.
But the red devils are trying hard to convince Florentino Perez to let go of Varane after his 10 years of service. United are offering €45 million for signing the center-back, but Madrid wants more for Varane. Los Blancos have been wanting €60-70 million for letting go of their star center-back this summer. But the Red Devils have only €50 million to spend regarding the center-back issue after spending a high amount on Jadon Sancho. However, United are not backing off the deal, as per the latest reports they are ready to include Varane’s France teammate Paul Pogba in the deal.

Paul Pogba joined the Premier League side back in 2017 from Serie A team Juventus. Manchester United paid almost 80 million or above for the midfielder, which makes Paul Pogba the costliest player on the team.
Since his joining, he has worn the red shirt 207 times in which he scored 38 goals and 42 assists in all competitions. But he may not be seen in the red shirt next season, following the rumor about including him in a swap deal.
United are looking for a center-back after their poor backline cost the Premier League and the Europa League title last season. Following which they are willing to sign Raphael Varane this summer. But a problem arises regarding Varane, that is his cost. United have only €50 million for signing a center-back and Real Madrid are wanting €70 million for the Frenchman.
Following this issue, Manchester United have changed their offer to a swap deal, in which they are offering Pogba to Real Madrid. Pogba has the same contract situation as compared to Varane because he has only one year left at United. But he will be leaving soon to help United to land his French teammate Raphael Varane. However, there has been no official confirmation of the swap deal till now.
Real Madrid are trying hard to make Varane sign a new contract at Madrid, but it seems hard to convince the Frenchman. Following which it seems Madrid should agree to the swap deal or cash on Varane this summer rather than losing him free next summer.
