Pirlo losing the Juventus dressing room after defeat to Benevento?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

On Sunday evening Andrea Pirlo’ Juventus lost at home to the 16th placed Benevento. The Serie A giants were absolutely abysmal in the game. They looked uninterested, sluggish throughout the game.

Andrea Pirlo’ side lost to FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. And now they were beaten by a newly promoted side which may have annoyed the experienced and hungry players in the dressing room.

Bianconerri are now 10 points behind the league leaders Inter Milan. It seems very unlikely that they will be able to win the league from here. Their only hope of winning a trophy this season is the Coppa Italia where they will play Atalanta in the final. Otherwise, the Old Lady will remain trophyless this season for the first time since 2010.

Has Pirlo lost the Juventus Dressing Room?

According to reports, after the Benevento defeat, many shouts and insults were heard in the Juventus dressing room. However, they were unable to name the key people involved or the reason for the anger amongst the players.

But, Juventus have come out and denied these claims in a statement through the Italian press.

This is the first season of club legend Andrea Pirlo as the manager of Juventus and things haven’t gone according to the plan as they are on the verge of losing the Serie A title to Inter Milan for the first time since 2010. It was like a routine for them to win the league every season.

It may be hard for the inexperienced Pirlo to manage the big names and big egos in the dressing room for his kind of cool, calm, and polite personality. This could also be the reason behind the dressing room bust-up after the game.

As things stand the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta on 19th May will be the biggest game of the season for Pirlo to win a trophy this season.
