The Asian Football Confederation has announced that the final draw for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023. It will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2023. It will be held at the Katara Opera House in Doha, Qatar. India will compete in this event for the third time in a row.
The AFC informed all Participating Member Associations (PMA) in a letter that Qatar will host the 2018 edition of the AFC Cup. And invited the President of each PMA, Head Coach, and Team Managers to the Final Draw.
Moreover, the AFC declared that Qatar will host the 2023 AFC Cup. It is the country that hosted the FIFA World Cup last year. With potential tournament dates ranging from January 12 to February 10, 2024. After FIFA verifies them, the competition’s final dates will be released.

“Now we can start planning for the road ahead,” India head coach Igor Stimac stated following the AFC announcement. It is critical that we begin discussions with other stakeholders as soon as possible about how to organise the calendar for the forthcoming season, which will be a huge task for everyone.”
Stimac emphasised the significance of preparing for the AFC Cup, saying, “Our aim is to get there.”
“Our objective is to obtain as much time as possible for training during December and January before to the Asian Cup,” Stimac stated, emphasising the significance of preparation for the AFC Asian Cup. The schedule for this year is busy with Asian Games, AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, and Senior Team FIFA window events. It is critical that we plan ahead of time.”
The India head coach also wants to start planning for the Asian Cup immediately after the Final Draw. “For the time being, we plan to select appropriate accommodations immediately following the draw, as well as discuss potential friendly games prior to the competition,” he stated.
