Thiago Silva is Leader even without the armband

Conor Gallagher explains that Chelsea teammate Thiago Silva is a huge leader on the pitch, even without the captain’s armband.

Need of a Leader

Since the Blues now have such a youthful group at Stamford Bridge. There is a lot of curiosity about who will become the older members of the dressing room.
This summer, Reece James took over as club captain, with Ben Chilwell serving as vice captain. This season, we have also witnessed Conor Gallagher fill in as the team’s stand-in captain.

Thiago Silva and Raheem Sterling stand out as being well above their counterparts in terms of experience within the club.

Thiago Silva Leadership

Gallagher has given a special mention to the impact of Silva on the Chelsea side.

Despite being 39 years of age, Silva has played in every single Premier League match so far this season. Remarkably, the £110,000-a-week centre-back (Spotrac) is still such a vial player in the squad.

Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino gave a nod to the future by rewarding James with the captain’s armband, but we’re not surprised to hear Silva still has a big influence.

“Reece James got the armband because he’s been one of Chelsea’s best players in recent years when he’s been fit and he came through the academy,” Gallagher stated via The Telegraph. You might mention Thiago Silva, but everyone is aware that he is a formidable leader on the field who doesn’t require an armband.
You don’t need to yell to set an example when you’ve had the kind of football career Silva has. Instead, we have no doubt that this youthful bunch looks on the Brazilian for guidance and tips on a daily basis.

Harry Redknapp stated that Silva is still Chelsea’s finest player in his piece for The Sun. He’s undoubtedly still being discussed for that!
