Everton

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has selected his successor. He is selling 94% stake of the Premier League club.

Who will be the next owner?

According to various reports Farhad Moshiri has selected Dan Friedkin as the next owner of Everton. He has excluded other investors such as MSP sports, Andy Bell, George Downing. The current owner thinks that the person who will take over the club should not only be a wealthy individual but also be an experienced football loving owner. By hearing this news many experts and football fans will raise their eyebrows. But the current Toffies owner has selected a person who has previous experience of running a top-tier football club. In 2020 he bought Italian giants AS Roma for $591m. Since then AS Roma is achieving domestic success and European glory. After 2020, AS Roma won European Conference League.

Why Farhad Moshiri is selling Everton?

The current owner has invested a lot of money for Everton. In every transfer window they bought elite players for high amount of transfer fees. Yet they didn’t get the success they were hoping for. They bought players like Idrissa Gueye, Gylfi Siggurdson, Amadou Onana, James Tarkowsky, Neal Maupay, Mykelenko, and many more.

Gradually they have become a mid-table club. The fans are also frustrated because Everton is not performing well. The owner also tried to improve Everton’s performance by appointing several experienced managers such as Carlo Ancelotti, Sean Dyche, Duncan Ferguson, Frank Lampard. Now the Evertonians are hoping to change their fate because the ownership is changing. The football community has seen the rise of AS Roma after Friedkin’s take over. Everton fans are hoping that their potential new owner will reciprocate the same thing in their club.

When he became the new owner of AS Roma, he said, “We are big believers in stability and culture. This is important in our existing businesses, and it’s critically important in football. We try to identify, and more importantly support, strong management. We prefer to be seen rather than heard, and for this reason we have empowered our leadership – particularly Guido Fienga – to handle most communication on behalf of the club. We believe that a winning culture must start at the top and we intend to lead by example.”

According to various reports, the club will officially announce the Friedkin take over news within this week. Previously the club authority was unsuccessful in completing a deal with 777 Partners’. For this reason, Everton fans are really worried about the club’s future. This time they are hoping that the club authority will struck a deal with the Friedkin group.

Reasons for choosing Friedkin group

There are some principles of the American Billionaire which the fans will certainly love to hear. First of all Friedkin always takes feedback from the fans. He doesn’t want to run the club at his own wish. In a press conference with AS Roma he once said “We intend to listen a lot – and we have already been listening – and what we have heard so far is that the fans want three things – a team to be proud of, a club that appreciates, understands and shares their passion, and an ownership that is both present and honest.
