According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan will prioritize signing Brahim Diaz. This is expected to be a permanent signing in the upcoming summer transfer window. AC Milan have fixed a meeting with Real Madrid regarding Brahim Diaz. It is estimated that the Italian giants have a purchase option worth around €22 million.
As a result of joining AC Milan from Real Madrid, Brahim Diaz has rekindled his stuttering career. Real Madrid was the Spaniard’s lifelong dream when he moved there in January 2019. However, he did not have enough opportunities to make an impact and eventually signed with the Serie A giants in September 2020.
He is in his third season on loan with AC Milan. As of now, the Spanish playmaker has four goals and two assists in 20 appearances. Hence, the Serie A champions now want Diaz permanently.
Will Brahim Diaz stay at AC Milan?
Real Madrid may not hesitate to let the 23-year-old playmaker sign a permanent contract with AC Milan. However, the no. 10 role Diaz thrives in at Real Madrid actually doesn’t fit Carlo Ancelotti’s system at all. It is likely that he will benefit from joining a Serie A club where he is already established.
Several months ago, reports indicated the Rossoneri wanted to sign Diaz permanently. Meanwhile, Real Madrid is now ready to meet the Serie A champions for the Spaniard. Negotiations might proceed smoothly with both parties seeming to be open to a deal.
By triggering a €22 million purchase option, AC Milan can permanently sign Diaz. However, the buyback clause, in this case, would be worth €27 million for Real Madrid. According to reports, the player wants to stay at AC Milan beyond the summer transfer window.
In light of the three parties being on the same page, a summer transfer is likely. However, it will be interesting to see whether he joins AC Milan permanently or the meeting ends with a different outcome.
