Real Madrid want Brahim Diaz to return to the Santiago Bernabeu

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Real Madrid reportedly want their youngster Brahim Diaz in the first team squad after his loan spell with AC Milan ends.

Diaz went to Milan on loan after his first-team football was very limited for Los Blancos. And the U21 Spanish International made a great impact for Rossoneri in Serie A in this loan spell.

The 21-year-old attacking-midfielder made 19 appearances this season for Milan in Serie A, scored and assisted two goals each.

Milan had a very good season in the first part of the season. They were at the top of the table but right now they dropped down to 2nd spot and 6 points behind the leader Inter Milan. Stefano Pioli’s side got 59 points in 28 games. They are also out of the UEFA Europa League and Coppa Italia.

Will Diaz want to return back to Madrid?

Real Madrid have sold quite a few creative-midfielders. Because of that, the midfield trio of Toni Kroos, Casemiro, and Luka Modric had to play almost every game. Brahim Diaz could reduce a little bit of workload from them.

Real Madrid bought Diaz from Manchester City for €17.5 million in the summer of 2019 with a reputation of a future star but he could not produce his best under Zidane.

Real Madrid is having a very inconsistent season so far. The defending champions of La Liga are third at the moment and 6 points behind the leader Atletico Madrid. They got 60 points in 28 games.

Brahim Diaz should not return to Santiago Bernabeu just yet as he has yet to learn a lot and Milan can give him the platform to grow as a footballer. If he returns to Madrid then he will have to sit out on the bench and it will harm his career a lot.

We have already seen a similar situation with Odegaard and he had to move away from Madrid to find game time elsewhere. It will be interesting to see what will be the future of Diaz next season.
