Bengal Football has given birth to plenty of young stars in Indian Football. 23-year-old Aditya Patra is going to be the latest addition to it.
Initial Career:
Aditya , born in Kolkata , started his Football Career from AIFF Elite Academy. At this time, he took part in different age group tournaments.
Gradually, the young goalkeeper played for the India U16 National team (in 2015-16) and the India U19 National team (in 2017).
First Professional Football Club : Bengaluru FC
Following his performance under the bars, Aditya got selected by Bengaluru FC. There, he played for their Reserve team. Later he was promoted to the Senior squad in 2018-19, under coach Carles Cuadrat. However, he did not get a chance to be in the playing 11.
Aditya Patra ‘s Current Club : EastBengal
In that phase, he did not get much gametime. Later, in 2022, he penned a 2-year-deal with East Bengal Reserve. Wearing the Red & Gold jersey, he took part in the 2nd Division I-League, RF Development League.
In his time with EB Reserves, the young goalie has stepped in on every occasion and provided a match-defining effort.
Playing in the first ever RFDL Kolkata Derby at Naihati Stadium, the young custodian got attention by pulling off a double save, including a penalty kick. This helped his team to end the match with a 0-0 scoreline.
Performing well in the big match, the junior custodian has also secured his place in the hearts of the Red & Gold supporters with his agility, quickness and skills.
Analysing his performance, EB Management has decided to include Aditya in their Senior Team squad for the upcoming Hero ISL season. Consequently, he is going to reunite with his former boss, Carles Cuadrat. Patra is very keen to make his senior team debut in the upcoming season.
Hopefully, Aditya will perform well under the bars and establish his name in the Indian Football circuit.
