Bengaluru FC set to clash horns with Club Eagles in the AFC play-off

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Indian Super League club Bengaluru FC’s AFC Cup playoff match against Maldives side Club Eagles has been rescheduled for 11 May. BFC was earlier scheduled to play on 28 April. The Blues were to face the winner of the game between Abahani Dhaka Limited and Club Eagles. However, Abahani was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to a lockdown in Bangladesh.

This battle would be worth watching as both teams have fought very hard to land here and they won’t be backing down now. BFC will travel to the Maldives to take on hosts Club Eagles this month.

Bengaluru FC and Club Eagles Team news:

Bengaluru FC is one step away from qualifying for AFC Cup 2021, but an intimidating battle against Club Eagles awaits. In their last outing, BFC thrashed Nepal’s Tribhuvan Army FC 5-0 in Bambolim, Goa. This was Marco Pezzaiuoli’s first competitive game as head coach.

Cleiton Silva was in splendid form in Bengaluru FC’s last game against Tribhuwan. The Brazilian forward seems to be giving his side their money’s worth for relying on him to lead the line.

“Our training sessions have never been based on the opponents. We prepare for what we want to develop. The focus is on the next two weeks and because I don’t work only for this group stage. I want to see a better team for the new season. Now for me, it’s like a pre-season, and I will take every minute with the team”- Marco Pezzaiuoli

Club Eagles defeated Thimphu City 2-0 to seal a berth in the next round. They are in very good form for the past 7 games in all competitions. However, Eagles’ No.7, Mohamed Naaim is the real firecracker of the team.

The most intriguing battle on the pitch during the Bengaluru FC Vs Club Eagles clash will arguably be the one between the captains Sunil Chhetri and Hussain Sifau. Chhetri is likely to operate from the left-wing channel and will be in a direct battle with right-back Sifau, who won’t be backing down without a fight. This tussle can be expected to be aggressive because of how passionate both players are.
