Barcelona looks promising in signing Lewandowski

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Barcelona and its board of directors appear to be secured in their decision to recruit a striker who may be the finest of his time.

The Catalans’ financial crisis isn’t stopping them from having a lot going on their plate. They seem very interested in signing Bayern Munich legend Robert Lewandowski in the next transfer window.

Lewandowski’s interest in Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski who is 33 years old comes among the best strikers in modern football. The Pole has lifted every trophy, there is during his Bayern Munich days. And now the Champions League winner intends to join Barcelona to take up a new challenge.

Barcelona has been leading the race in signing Lewandowski from the start. Word has it that there have been approaches from the Spanish side to Bayern saying they’re interested in the Poland captain.

Financial issues at Catalona

No matter how many transfers Barcelona can think of making, it always comes down to their financial crisis. Keeping in mind that the club has huge debts to be cleared from last year, they can’t take a step forward.

In addition, Joan Laporta seems to be very positive about landing the 8-time Bundesliga winner. Above all, Sport1 reports claim Laporta promised Pini Zahavi in March that they would find the funds to complete the trade provided Bayern Munich was happy to sell the Pole.

Should Lewandowski leave Bayern Munich?

Firstly, the German heavyweights have no intentions to let go of their top striker. Secondly, Lewa’s contract ends in 2023 which means Bayern has every right to keep him.

In other words, club CEO Oliver Kahn openly stated in a press conference, ‘Lewandowski isn’t going anywhere. He will stay at Bayern for another year,‘ The friction between the player and the management had Lewandowski disrespect the club.

To work in what the player feels is a toxic environment isn’t healthy for anyone. Neither will Lewandowski score 40 or more goals in a season, nor will Bayern win any silverware. It would be ideal for Bayern to not see the player at the club anymore.

Bayern Munich’s replacement

According to renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich is set to sign Sadio Mane on a permanent deal from Liverpool, a final bid to be accepted. Bayern director Salihamidzic was in England yesterday morning to finalize the deal.

Liverpool has agreed to Bayern Munich’s guaranteed £32 million along with a maximum of £9 million in add-ons. The Senegalese wingman didn’t extend his contract with the Reds and is looking forward to a new challenge.

Should Lewandowski sign for Barcelona?

The current Bayern Munich star had a move to La Liga in mind for a while now. This seems to be the perfect opportunity to leave the Bundesliga and join Barca. On the other hand, Xavi Hernandez is also interested to see how Lewandowski can strengthen the Blaugrana’s front line.

Making Camp Nou his new home would certainly put smiles on Barca fans. It would be a healthy environment for the Pole considering his intent to play for the club. But it all depends on where Barcelona will bring the money to pay for this star striker.
