Barcelona under Xavi are a different breed now. We have come so far from looking at them as a broken bankrupt club to a club that has made insane signings this summer. It was a brilliant transfer window for the Catalans as they conjured up some really important signings. It finally looks like they are back to their very best under coach Xavi. They are enjoying a brilliant start to their season with just one loss coming against Bayern Munich. The Blaugranas have scored the most goals in La Liga and have also held the most clean sheets. As good as the attack is, the defense also seems to be very secure this time.
But the addition of new players has made life very refreshing for the fans. Jules Kounde has made a fantastic start to life at his new club Barcelona. He is now one of the first names on the team for Xavi. The squad looks very happy which is reflected in their performances. Marc Andre Ter Stegen seems to be back at his best for Xavi with Lewandowski scoring goals for fun. But will all the positivity around, the international break was not kind to the Catalans. Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo who had been brilliant up until this point have suffered major injuries. As reports say, They will miss some important clashes.
The challenges Barcelona have in the month of October against the likes of Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich are scary. Xavi already lost his first big game of the season against Bayern Munich. However, it was very optimistic how the youngsters played and tried till the end. And there was more to come as Depay and Frenkie also suffered Knocks playing for the Dutch. Dembele just had some discomfort which is not serious. But it will be a real test of how Barcelona cope without some of their best players on the pitch.
Kounde and his brilliant start at Barcelona
Jules Kounde was announced as a Barcelona signing last month when a phone call by Xavi changed it all. It was pretty clear for the Frenchman to choose between Barcelona and Chelsea as he chose the former. And to be honest, he has had quite a brilliant start to his life at Camp Nou. His first contribution came in form of a brilliant goal-line clearance to preserve the clean sheet and from then, he dominated.
Kounde also gave brilliant performances against the likes of Sevilla and was really good against Bayern also. It was just the latter’s ruthlessness that ended up defeating Barcelona. But all in all, Jules Kounde could not have had a better start to his career. He would be devastated to be injured now for the club but try to return as soon as possible. He was already spotted in training yesterday which is quite optimistic for Barcelona. The month of October is a make-or-break one for the club.
