According to several reports, Denis Zakaria might have held initial talks on extending his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach. The Swiss internationals’ current contract is due to end on June 30, 2022, and there had been no positive talks on signing a new one. But, now reports are emerging that Zakari might be considering extending his stay at Monchengladbach.

The midfielder joined the Bundesliga side back in 2017 as he made a move from Young Boys after staying their two seasons. Since Zakaria’s debut for Monchengladbach, he has made 131 appearances, scoring 10 goals and 7 assists. However, apart from his strong midfield presence, his contract issue was the most talk subject this summer.

Denis Zakaria is currently running on the last year of his Borussia Monchengladbach and as per reports, he refused to sign a new one. Following this, clubs like Arsenal, AS Roma, Napoli, and Manchester City approached the midfielder for signing. While Roma seemed to have advanced talks with Monchengladbach but deal failed due to not agreeing on the same price. And Zakaria had to continue with the German side this season.

However, clubs are still linked with him after the transfer window closed as they wanted to sign him on pre-contract. But after seeing some recent reports, it seems Denis Zakaria might have changed his mind and decided to stay at Borussia Monchengladbach.

As per the reports, Zakaria had some initial talks about extending his contract with Monchengladbach. But there have been no such successful results in that as the situation seems complicated. But Zakaria’s feelings for staying with the German side seem legit as per the report. However, let’s wait and see what the final result will be between Denis Zakaria and Borussia Monchengladbach.
