Victor Mongil, Apostolos Giannou, Jessel Carneiro, Ivan Kaliuzhnyi, Harmanjot Khabra, and Muheet Khan made their departures. Due to the expiration of their contracts on May 31, 2023, Kerala Blasters FC has cut ties with six members of their first team.
Victor Mongil is a Hero ISL champion with ATK FC in the 2019–20 season. He played for Odisha FC in the 2021–22 campaign before joining the Blasters in the 2022–23 campaign.
This season, the defender played 853 minutes in 19 games and was the second-choice center-back behind Marko Leskovic. When Leskovic was hurt, Mongil filled in and made 25 clearances, 21 tackles, 19 clearances, and 15 blocks.
Apostolos Giannou had recently transferred from the Australian team Macarthur FC to the Kochi-based team. He made his Hero ISL debut in the meanwhile. Giannou, who was second-fiddle to fellow Australian Dimitrios Diamantakos, saw only 668 minutes of action over the course of 17 games. The forward contributed to four goals by scoring two goals and providing two assists.

On the other side, Ivan Kaliuzhnyi quickly won over Blasters supporters when he scored an incredible long-range goal against East Bengal FC in the first Hero ISL 2022–23 match. Under head coach Ivan Vukomanovic’s gameplan, the midfielder was crucial. Because he played between the lines as a midfielder and dropped deep into the team’s build-up play to serve as a ball carrier.
KBFC Departures
Kaliuzhnyi played in 18 games and contributed one assist along with four goals. The Ukrainian had an 81% throwing accuracy throughout the season. Controlled the middle of the field with 96 tackles, 28 blocks, 22 interceptions, and 18 clearances.
Khabra is one of the most experienced players in the Hero ISL. He has played for Bengaluru FC and Chennaiyin FC, both of whom have won the Hero ISL championship. He switched to the Tuskers before the 2021–22 season after a disappointing year with the Blues in 2020–21.
Khabra played right-back. And only made seven appearances in the Hero ISL 2022–23 season. As opposed to 19 in the previous one, didn’t play in many games. The defender finished the season with 18 tackles, 12 interceptions, 8 blocks, and 8 clearances while also making a single goal and an assist.
Muheet Khan, who came up through the Kerala Blasters FC youth ranks and joined the senior team for the 2020–21 season, departures the team after making no appearances.
Prior to the 2019–20 Hero ISL season, Jessel joined the Club and had an immediate effect for Kerala Blasters FC. Jessel made over 65 appearances throughout his four seasons with the team, contributing 6 assists. He departs the club as a Club legend and a beloved member. Carneiro became a crucial member of his team. Notably, he played for the squad in every minute of the season. After four amazing years, the left-back’s tenure with the Blasters comes to an end.
