I-League Transfers

Sreenidi Deccan
The I-League is the second-tier men’s professional football league in the Indian football league system. It is also known as the Hero I-League due to sponsorship links with Hero MotoCorp. Major transfers have been taking place in I-League teams.

1. Samad Ali Mallik to extend his contract with Mohammedan SC

At the start of the 2022–23 season, Samad, a West Bengal native, transferred from Sreenidi Deccan FC to Mohammedan SC. Prior to joining RoundGlass Punjab FC for the 2021–2022 season, he played for East Bengal for six seasons from 2015–2021. After that, he joined Sreenidi Deccan FC, where he appeared in just three games. He is expected to return to the field in 2023, having missed the whole 2022–2023 campaign with an injury.

2. Uzbek midfielder Mirjalol Kasimov is prepared to sign with Mohammedan SC

The Uzbek footballer, 27, most recently played for Neroca FC, where he appeared in 19 games and scored three goals.

3. Subhankar Adhikari will be transferred to Sreenidi Deccan FC on a two-year deal

The defender for Gokulam Kerala FC played 21 games and logged about 1900 minutes on the field last season. The player participated in their Hero Super Cup campaign as well.

4. Winger Rosenberg Gabriel’s contract with Sreenidi Deccan FC has been extended till 2025

The 24-year-old dynamic winger for I-League team Sreenidi Deccan FC has recently been under scrutiny for his performances this year. Rosenberg Gabriel. In his ten appearances in the 22/23 season, Gabriel has up to five assists.

5. Banpynkhrawnam Nongkhlaw is about to sign a two-year contract with Rajasthan United FC

Mumbai Banpynkhrawnam Nongkhlaw, a.k.a. “Nam,” a centre defender for Kenkre FC, is about to sign a two-year contract to play for Rajasthan United FC in the I-League. In the 2016–17 I-League season, Nongkhlaw made his professional debut with Churchill Brothers. He participated in more than 30 games and added a goal. The 25-year-old Meghalayan centre back can also switch to the right wing-back position.

6. Lalremuata HP to join Rajasthan United FC for a two-year contract

The midfielder, who was born in Mizoram, transferred from Electric Veng FC to FC Goa’s reserve team in January 2020. In the 2019–20 season, he played for the Gaurs’ reserve team, who competed in the I-League 2nd level. The 21-year-old participated in four Durand Cup 2022 matches and four more RF Developmental League 2023 matches. He was also a member of the team that competed in the TACA Goa U20 League 2022–2023 and won the league’s championship, FC Goa.
