AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has reportedly been involved in a heated argument with a group of Milan fans. Some strong words were exchanged between the two parties yesterday morning.

The 22-year-old’s contract with the Rossoneri will end this season. The goalkeeper and his agent Mino Raiola are delaying the contract renewal. This has given rise to rumors of Donnarumma joining Juventus. This news has caused the fan base to lose their cool ahead of the Juventus game.

Donnarumma has made 33 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri in this season. He managed to keep 10 clean sheets with a 70% saving percentage.

It is important to mention that Donnarumma had already faced the wrath of the Milan fans once before. When he wanted to leave the club. But, in the end, he decided to renew his contract.

Will the AC Milan fans forgive Donnarumma?

According to reports, just before lunch, a delegation of organized groups gathered outside the Milanello sports center. They asked for a confrontation with the Milan goalkeeper Donnarumma. Despite being told not to do so, he went out and met this delegation of fans.

Strong words flew; Donnarumma was told not to take the field against Juventus in case of non-renewal by next Saturday.

A request that could obviously never be accepted neither by the goalkeeper nor by the Milan team management. The climate is getting tensed and it is good for Donnarumma that the fans aren’t allowed in the stadium at the moment.

The Rossoneri have fumbled it in the second half of the season. After starting the season on a high they were counted as one of the contenders for the Scudetto. However, they slipped down to 5th place on the table. But, Saturday night’s win in a crucial game against Benevento helped them to regain second place.

Stefano Pioli’s side are currently sitting in 2nd place with 69 points in 34 games. Their place in the league table could get changed after Sunday’s games of Juventus, Atalanta and Napoli
