Christian Eriksen joins Brentford on a short term contract

The 29-year-old Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen joined Brentford on a short-term loan contract on Monday after staying away for 7 months.

The former Inter Milan player Eriksen returns to action after signing for the premier league club Brentford. The 29-year-old Eriksen makes his return to the Premier League. He suffered a cardiac arrest, sidelining the midfielder for 7 months. The Serie A regulations became one of the major roadblocks for Eriksen’s return. Which dis-allowed him to play with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator or ICD and hence terminating his contract.

The former Spurs player hasn’t played a single competitive match in the last 7 months and would look to regain his form and confidence. On his arrival to Brentford, Danish midfielder said

I’m happy to announce I’ve signed for Brentford and can’t wait to get started and hopefully see you all very soon

Eriksen, The past and new Opportunity given by Brentford

Going through the roughest patch of his career, his return was not at all easy. Adding salt to injury, the Brentford player faced many rumors of him retiring from the beautiful game. Eriksen is given a chance by Brentford to prove that himself once and for all. The Danish, who once regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and the Serie A. He made 226 appearances for Spurs in all competitions providing 62 assists and scoring 51 goals along the way. His record with Inter Milan is also quite impressive, having 43 appearances and providing 2 assists and scoring 4.

It can’t be denied that when Eriksen moved to the Italian giants, he was among the hottest prospects in the transfer market. The midfielder attracted the attention of many European giants. Eriksen ended up moving to Inter in search of a new challenge after Spurs.

The world of football would love to see Eriksen back on the field at his best level again. Though 7 months is a long time off.
