Ex United Captain gives his views on Graham Potter

Ex United Captain Roy Keane, has already shown his respect for Graham Potter in the midst of rumours that the former Chelsea manager will take Erik ten Hag’s place.

ETH under Pressure

The manager of United is facing increasing pressure at Old Trafford. Following the Reds’ humiliating exit from Europe on Tuesday night. A loss to Bayern Munich solidified the team’s position at the bottom of Group A. Ensuring that, come Christmas, even the solace of the Europa League was out of the question.

Now that INEOS has arrived at the club. Speculation in the national press has been circulating about whether or not they would try to replace Ten Hag. If they decide to change managers, Potter seems to be the best choice.
The Englishman hasn’t had a job since April, but it’s said that Sir Dave Brailsford, the head of INEOS, made a strong effort to have the guy appointed as Nice’s next manager in the summer before it was rejected. Keane has previously spoken well of Potter, but it remains to be seen if this appreciation eventually results in a job offer.

Ex United Captain Choices

Keane was asked to choose his best three Premier League coaches back in October of last year. Upon arriving at Stamford Bridge for barely one month, Pep Guardiola and Thomas Frank were his initial selections before Potter was added to the roster.

The former United captain gave an explanation of his decisions on Sky Sports, saying, “Managers I like? Pep has always been a big part of my life. What he does to his teams, in my opinion… I’m aware that many claim he consistently works with the greatest players at the biggest teams with the largest resources, but he still needs to manage them and develop a style of play.

“I like Brentford’s manager, Thomas Frank, I like him. I like the way he comes across. Even when they were in the Championship, I came across him. A really good guy.

“And I like Graham Potter at Chelsea. I like the way his teams play, I like the way he comes across in the media, I’m delighted he’s got a chance at a big club like Chelsea.
