Exclusive: Rising star Gurpreet Grewal opens up before playing his first major tournament

Gurpreet Grewal is a really talented young forward who has come up from the Minerva Academy. He has come a long way up from the Minerva Academy. Also, playing for Youngsters FC was his first professional club, which was his first professional club.

In an Exclusive Interview, with Football Express he opens up about his professional career and his dreams of playing in the top-tier league in India. However, has been a real asset at the striking for of the Calcutta Football League team Airlines FC this season.

How Did Your Journey As A FOOTBALLER Begin ?

“From Childhood, I liked the game of football very much. At a very early age, I started playing football. Also, my father really encouraged me very much in this field, and again it is all because of my family’s support, I am here today. Because of my father, I liked the game very much and therefore I chose the game of football as my career.”

Your experience at Kolkata?

“It’s really good, great to see such amazing football fan base here and amazing players. The process of the training here is also different than that of Punjab. I am really enjoying my short span of stint at Kolkata play the CFL.”

How are you looking into the CFL this season?

“The sim is of course to win every game and promote to the premier division. The teams here are really competitive and therefore we are all enjoying at the same time practising at the great heights and therefore looking forward to the season.”

Tell about your first professional match in your career. What was your driving force then?

“My first professional match was for the Youngsters FC at the Punjab Super League. I just wanted to make less mistakes there and therefore, we are all focused and ready for the match. I was really excited and therefore also a bit nervous as it was my first match.”

Do you want to play for the national team in Future? How are you going forward for this?

“Yes obviously. Every footballer dreams of dawning the National Team Jersey. I would be proud to dawn the national team jersey. i am looking forward for good offers from the clubs above. And also will be playing the I-League this season with from one of the clubs of North-East and I am really looking forward to this new challenge.”

What are your plans for the I-League? How are you going to prove yourself there?

“Yes, I am really excited. My plans are really very well and therefore I would like to play the game as my coach wants me to play and support the team. Also, I will experience playing with foreigners there which will be a totally new experience for me, and looking forward to witnessing this. Last but not the least, I would like to thank my agency, KSG India for helping me in enrolling a team in the top leagues. I would prove myself by trying to score more and more goals and to assist my co-players there.”

Gurpreet Singh really a talented brat. His skills and ability to score difficult goals make him different from others. He has come a long way up fighting and will continue to keep fighting to maintain his position in his team. To whichever team he goes and plays, he can be an asset in the future.
