SAFF Cup – In a first, 5 Jammu and Kashmir footballers selected for U-16

In a historic moment for Jammu and Kashmir, the national U-16 camp has selected five footballers for the first time. The national camp contains as many as five players from j&k. The selection is for SAFF Cup in Bhutan, later.

Former national team player and present AIFF committee member, Arun Malhotra himself supervised the trials. After the training, Maholtra said, “The AIFF has selected two boys from each state”.

Players selected from Jammu and Kashmir

Malhotra, who himself supervised the trials, said that Jammu and Kashmir managed to secure five spots for talented players.

Arnav Sharma, Krish Kerni, Abdul Salha Shear Gojri, Aayaan Bilal. Also Hashim Bilal are the five players who have been selected from the J&K zone.

He also lauded the role of Secretary J&K Sports Council for being supportive. Also playing a key role to bring football to new heights of glory.

Notably, the expenses related to the travel of the selected candidates will be borne by the J&K Sports Council. Also the council has agreed to bear these through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

Ex-International footballer, Ishfaq Ahmad, International Coach, Sajid Yousuf Dar, also Educator, Javaid Ahmad, Arun Pal Jasrotia Certified scout and Satpal Singh, Coach were also the important role players in the selection trials.

Our players are striving to bring glory to Jammu and Kashmir on the football field and several measures are in the pipeline for uplifting the game in Jammu and Kashmir,” said an official.
