Inter Milan are ready to sell the star forward Romelu Lukaku in the summer if they can get the right price for him and they can manage to sign the Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero.
Antonio Conte’s side bought Lukaku from Manchester United in the summer of 2019 for €65 million. This deal went through after a very long negotiation.
Lukaku has been in terrific form since he joined the Nerazzurri. The 27-year-old Belgian forward played 26 Serie A games this season, scored 19 goals, and assisted 8 times. Since his transfer from Manchester United, he made 62 appearances for the Serie A giant and scored 42 goals.
Sergio Aguero’s contract at Manchester City will expire at the end of the season. And reports suggest that the Citizens aren’t going to offer a renewal due to his recent fitness issues.
A Lukaku-Aguero Swap Deal for on the books for Inter Milan?
Inter have spent big in recent times to fulfill the big demands of Antonio Conte. So the Nerazzurri might have to sell one of their big assets to balance the finance.
The partnership of Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez for Inter have been very successful in the last two years. This drew the eyes of big European giants as almost every team are looking for a centre-forward in the transfer market. Manchester City and Chelsea linked with a move for the all-time leading goal scorer for Belgium.
If Inter sell one of their stars forwards then it will create a big hole in Conte’s squad as they are instrumental in the recent success. It won’t be easy for the 32-year-old Argentine forward who has had his injury issues in recent times to replace any of them.
But Conte wants experienced players in the team and Aguero will be a great addition to the squad if they can sign the all-time leading goal scorer for Manchester City. They bought Aguero from Atletico Madrid for €40 million in 2011. In this season he played only 8 Premier League games and scored just once.
It will be interesting to see what Inter will decide at the end. If they sell their star man they will have to buy Sergio Aguero in the transfer window. If they don’t sign him they’ll have to look elsewhere for a cheap replacement.
