Inter Milan reportedly put a hefty €120 million asking price for Romelu Lukaku. This happened amid the transfer speculation to Chelsea and Manchester City rose.

After the recent fitness issues of Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus could not fill the boot of Argentine legend this season. Manchester City confirmed that the 32-year-old forward will leave the club at the end of the season.

Chelsea are struggling with their number nine spot from last season. They bought Timo Werner for that spot but he isn’t a conventional center-forward. Lukaku was indeed a Chelsea player at a young age but he could not break into the first-team squad and in the end, the Blues sold him to Everton.

So, with the problems of their center-forward situation. The Premier League big guns Chelsea and Manchester City shortlisted Inter’s in-form striker and former Manchester United forward Lukaku as the target to solve the situation.

Can Chelsea and Manchester City buy Lukaku from Inter?

Lukaku is having a great time since his arrival to Milan from Manchester United for €65 million in the summer of 2019.

The 27-year-old Belgium forward has played in 26 Serie A games this season, scoring 19 goals and assisting 8 in the meanwhile. Overall in two years for the Nerazzurri, he appeared in 62 league games and scored 42 goals and 10 assists.

Currently Inter Milan under Antonio Conte at the top of the league table with the help of a very impressive striking partnership of Lautaro Martinez and Lukaku. They scored a combined 33 goals and 13 assists.

The all-time record goalscorer for Belgium is contracted with Inter until the summer of 2024. So, it won’t be easy for Chelsea or Manchester City to land Lukaku. Also, it is hard to believe that Inter will sell Lukaku during the tenure of a demanding manager like Conte

Inter under new ownership are looking to bring back the old glory days and make themselves a superpower in Europe. To reach that level they will have to keep their stars at the club.
