Barcelona ready to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan

Barcelona are once again in the spotlight to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan. The Catalan club considers him as the back-up if they fail to sign Erling Haaland, one of newly appointed Barca president Joan Laporta’s dream signing.

Martinez had been a key player for the Nerazzuri scoring 14 goals and 8 assists so far in 27 appearances in Serie A. However, the club is considering earning some money by letting Martinez and Romelu Lukaku go. The latter player has been linked to Barca’s El Clasico rivals, Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old striker would be excited to play alongside his international teammate, Lionel Messi for the Blaugrana. He has still two more years left regarding his current contract at the Italian club.

Barcelona is the dream move for Lautaro Martinez

Martinez joined Inter Milan in July 2018 from the Argentine club, Racing Club. However, his breakthrough came after the appointment of Antonio Conte as the manager.

He has been one of the key players in the current squad. The club is now chasing their first-ever Serie A since the 2009-10 season. However, the club had a mixed season with finishing fourth in the Champions League group-stage and losing to Juventus in the semifinals of Coppa Italia.

According to reports, the Spanish club are considering Lautaro Martinez as their new potential transfer target. The Blaugranas approached him last season but he was only available as an expensive option, around €111 million.

However, currently, it seems Inter might lower the transfer fee and thus, Barcelona would be taking advantage of this situation. Also, it would be a great option for him to play alongside Messi and Sergio Aguero. The latter player is going to leave Manchester City at the end of the season.

As a result, the Inter would have to seriously consider whether they will allow their key duo of Martinez-Lukaku to depart or let them stay and win more trophies!
