Juventus suspends players for breaking the Covid-19 restriction rules

Juventus suspended star players Paulo Dybala, Weston McKennie and Arthur Melo for breaking the Covid-19 lockdown rules after they were found guilty of partying at McKennie’s house.

Initially, they were suspended for the Turin derby against Torino, and the players penalized financially for this repercussion. However, it is also possible that their short-term suspensions could carry over into their next two Serie A games against Napoli and Genoa.

This can cause a huge blow to the Bianconeri after the disappointing draw in the derby. They are now 12 points behind the Serie A leader Inter Milan. Their real goal is to qualify for the UEFA Champions League right now as the Scudetto feels out of reach.

As McKennie is having a great season with Andrea Pirlo’s side. His suspension is certainly a big blow for Juve if he’s not able to play against Napoli in their midweek fixture. This incident might convince the Juve board to get rid of Dybala as he is having his worst season.

What exactly happened and will Juventus sell Dybala after this incident?

The party took place on 31st March on Wednesday evening at McKennie’s villa in Turin. Local police busted the party at around 11:30 pm local time. The Bianconeri denied any other player involvement in the party.

“I was wrong to stay out for dinner. it wasn’t a party, but I was wrong anyway and I apologise.” – Paulo Dybala on his Social Media account.

“The three players involved will not be called up, then they’ll go back to work and we’ll understand when. I don’t want to talk about this anymore, we’ve already done enough. For the technical part I decided, the club. did the rest.” Andrea Pirlo

Juventus wanted to offload the 27-year-old Argentine forward due to his poor form. He has scored only three goals in the 2020-2021 campaign, missing long spells of action due to fitness and injury issues.  And after this irresponsible behaviour from him, it might just escalate. And they might want to sell him before his contract expires and he leaves on a free.
