Kessie equals Kaka’ record as AC Milan win over Parma

AC Milan beat Parma 3-1 away at Ennio Tardini in Serie A. It was in this game that Frank Kessie equalled Kaka’ record after scoring Rossoneri’s second goal, scoring 10 goals from midfield in 29 games. However, it wasn’t all sunshine for Milan as Ibrahimovic picked up a red card in the 2nd half.

Ante Rebic and Kessie gave the lead to Stefano Pioli’s side in the first half. Courtesy of two assists from Ibrahimovic and Theo Hernandez respectively. However, on the 60th-minute mark, Ibrahimovic was handed a red card for dissent.

Riccardo Gagliolo scored one goal back for Parma. It looked at that stage that the game was going away from Milan. But in the end, a blistering counter-attack from Milan finished by substitute Rafael Leao gave a very crucial three points to the Rossoneri.

This victory solidified Milan’s second spot in Serie A. They now have 63 points in 30 games. Parma are in real trouble after the loss, they remain in 19th place with 22 points in 30 games, 5 points off the safe zone.

Can Kessie become as important as Kaka was for Milan?

Kessie is the first midfielder to score 10+ goals in 30 games since Kaka way back in the 2008-09 season for Milan. The 24-year-old’s latest strike on Saturday has seen him emulate the former AC Milan midfielder. He is one of the best players to ever play for the club.

He entered the double-figure of scoring in a single Serie A season as Kaka did in the 2008-2009 season where he scored 16 goals in 31 appearances in the league.

Kessie has already become one of the most important player in the Milan squad. He is also a leader in the team for Pioli at this young stage, so he will keep on becoming the most valuable player for the Serie A giants.

However, Milan might be in trouble due to the red card to Ibrahimovic. This is completely unacceptable from an experienced player like him. Previously he conceded a bad red card in the Coppa Italia game against Inter Milan. That day it caused them the game that night but thankfully this time did not cause any problems.
