Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters are interested in Spanish defender Juan Ibiza. Initial talks have been held between both parties. The Kerala Blasters are looking to add this experienced defender, along with Marco Leskovic, for the upcoming season.

Juan Ibiza, the 27-year-old Spanish defender, started his career in Villarreal CF’s youth system. In 2014, Juan made his Villarreal C debut against CD Castellon. The 6.2-foot defender has vast experience of playing in LaLiga 2.
Ahead of the 2016–17 season, Juan Ibiza got promotion and joined Villarreal B in Segunda Division B. Ibiza spent two seasons with Villarreal B. Later in July 2018, Juan Ibiza was loaned out to Segunda Division side UD Almeria for one year with a buyout clause.
In 2019, UD Almeria signed Juan permanently by activating the buyout clause. Due to regular injuries, Ibiza left Almeria and joined CE Sabadell on loan in 2020. Lastly, Juan Ibiza was playing for another second division side, UD Ibiza.

Juan Ibiza, the Spanish defender, has made 113 LaLiga2 appearances, in which he also scored six goals. He has played 47 games for Villarreal B and 50 games for UD Ibiza in LaLiga 2. Juan has also featured in six matches in the Copa del Rey.
Interestingly, in his entire career, Juan Ibiza played 158 matches as a centre-back but never saw a direct red card. This stat shows his sharp tackling skills and excellent man-marking ability. Besides, Juan is comfortable on the ball and has good aerial ability.

The 2023 Summer Transfer window has been too busy for the Kerala Blasters. Players like Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, Nishu Kumar, and Sahal Abdul Samad left the club. On the other hand, Jaushua Sotirio, Pritam Kotal, Prabir Das, and Naocha Singh are the new entrants.
Besides Nishu, Gill, and Sahal, the Kerala Blasters have also released their Spanish defender, Victor Mongil. That’s why Kerala Blasters management has put their eyes on Juan Ibiza as a replacement for Mongil.
