The Rekordmeister soon extended their lead when in-form Joshua Kimmich continued his goal-scoring exploits. The midfielder placed beautifully to the bottom corner of the post from his shot from outside the penalty box in the 31st minute.

A lifeline was awarded to Furth at the start of the second half. Benjamin Pavard was shown a direct red card for his tackle on Julian Green. However, Bayern wrapped the game up in the 68th minute when a free-kick from Kimmich went inside for a goal after taking a touch from Furth midfielder Sebastian Griesbeck.

The home fans did have a reason to cheer at the end when Cedric Itten scored in the dying minutes of the match. A long season awaits Furth as they will have to improve fastly if they want to be in the Bundesliga. As for Bayern, the attention will turn to Champions League, as they host Dynamo Kyiv at home.
