AC Milan making move for Barcelona fullback in Summer

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan have shortlisted Barcelona‘s left-back, Junior Firpo, as their summer transfer target. Firpo has never been able to solidify himself as the first-choice left-back for the Blaugranas.

The 24-year-old Spanish defender made 17 appearances for the Catalan Giants during the 2019-2020 La Liga season. That was due to the absence of Jordi Alba. However, this season it came down to just six appearances and 4 of them were off the bench.

Firpo has scored twice and provided three assists in 40 appearances for Barca since joining La Liga giants from Real Betis for €18 million in August 2019.

Current Premier League Standings

AC Milan are all in for Junior Firpo

Firpo has a contract at Camp Nou until June 2024. However, he never settled himself down as a Barcelona player. And because of that, he has been linked to moving away from the club.

AC Milan are willing to buy Firpo and make a suitable replacement for their star left-back Lucas Hernandez.

Stefano Pioli wants competitions for each position for his side and for that reason he wants to buy Firpo so that they make each other a better player.

The 7 times European Champions have a great young squad. The blend between young talent and experienced players is something to look out for. Junior Firpo will be a very good inclusion for the squad in the next season.

Reports are claiming that Napoli are also interested in the full-back, who could be available for a fee in the region of €15 million. But, if there is a competition for him then it will drive up the cost for the Rossoneri.

Milan are willing to bring back their glory days and for that they are buying young talents from across Europe in all positions. They are sitting second in Serie A with 56 points in 27 games and they want to challenge for the title in the near future.
