Akash Mishra move to Mumbai City, has been finalised by Hyderabad FC

Mumbai City FC is happy to announce on Monday that the club and Hyderabad FC have come to terms on the transfer of Akash Mishra for an undisclosed sum. The gifted teenage left-back signs a five-year deal with the Hero ISL Champions through May 2028. Akash, who is from the Uttar Pradesh, however started playing football locally and for his school. Before enrolling at the U Dream Football Academy in Germany in 2015 at the age of 14.

Three years later, however he made his way back to India to play for the Indian Arrows, where he made his I-League debut in the 2018–19 campaign. Akash made a strong impression in 23 games for the Arrows over the course of two seasons. As a result, he was called up to the India Under-18 National Team. Akash scored twice in seven games to win the 2019 SAFF U18 Championship, continuing his impressive performances.

The 21-year-old made his debut with Hyderabad FC during the 2020–21 season, and over his three seasons with the team, he established himself as a National Team regular. Mishra played 69 times across all leagues for Yellow and Black, scoring three goals. He was however a key member of the group that won the Indian Super League championship in the 2021–22 campaign. After making 16 appearances for the Blue of India, who just won the Hero Intercontinental Cup in Bhubaneswar, he moreover continued to solidify his place on the national team.
