The Canadian international’s Alphonso Davies current contract at the Allianz Arena expires in 2025. And the German champions are eager to lock him down to a new one.
Since moving from a touchline winger to a flying full-back after joining the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2018. Davies has solidified his position as one of the most entertaining players in the world.
Although the Bavarian giants would want him to prolong his time at the club. It’s not a given that Davies would commit his future to them. He has won 13 major awards with Bayern Munich, including the 2019/20 Champions League and five consecutive Bundesliga titles.
According to 90min, Real Madrid is also keeping an eye on Davies’ conversations with Bayern Munich, while Chelsea and Manchester City are also kept up to date on his status.
In an interview with 365 Scores, Davies’ agent, Nick Huoseh, listed Real Madrid as a team that may pursue the left-back but also acknowledged Premier League teams might possibly enter the picture.
Alphonso Davies’ current team, Bayern Munich, wants him to sign a new deal
“I can’t talk much about [Bayern contract talks], we were talking at the beginning of the summer with the sporting director and the former general director, but everything was put on hold,” he stated.
As a result of internal changes at the club, things were a little chaotic at Bayern. As a result, we lacked a picture. We knew exactly how we were going to proceed. And because nobody approached us and informed us that this or that was happening. We just let events unfold as they would.
“Many teams are showing interest. I’ve seen similar stories online, but we’ll have to wait and see what transpires over the next few months. Along with other English Premier League clubs, I have no doubt Real Madrid may be one of the teams vying for Davies’ services. Everyone aspires to own one of the top left-backs in the world.”
Huoseh said Davies is often in communication with David Alaba. He left the Allianz Arena for the Santiago Bernabeu in 2021, especially in regards to a potential transfer to Real Madrid.
“He spent three years playing with Alaba. They frequently converse since they are pals. I don’t know anything about the private chats they have, but I’m sure David would want to play with him again,” he continued.
“They are friends, you know, they will talk a lot, but he is also friends with other players from other clubs, and he also knows players from other clubs in the Premier League and La Liga.”
