Andriy Lunin intends to leave Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, according to a report from the Spanish outlet Fichajes. The 23-year-old goalkeeper is disappointed of his conditions at the Santiago Bernabeu and is ready to start a new journey.

Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is reportedly quiting Real Madrid

Upon moving to Real Madrid from Zorya Luhansk in July 2018, Andriy Lunin’s development has come to a grinding halt. When the Ukrainian goalie came to the Santiago Bernabeu, he was among the best young goalkeepers in the world. Nonetheless, he has played a very small role for Real Madrid during the past five years.
Furthermore unsuccessful were two loan experiences at CD Leganes and Real Oviedo away from Real Madrid. Moreover, Lunin has played in only 630 minutes of total time this season through seven games. So, it is inevitable that the 23-year-old will consider leaving Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

Idealistically, the young star keeper ought to be among the finest in the world by this point.  Yet Lunin has found it difficult to stand out because Thibaut Courtois is Real Madrid’s undeniable first-choice goalie. And it’s doubtful that the Belgian international will depart Real Madrid anytime soon. With Real Madrid, Thibaut Courtois is without a doubt the best goalkeeper, and for good reason. The international player from Belgium has been a great asset to the team and a key component of their recent success.Andriy Lunin has made few appearances in a Real Madrid jersey as a result of Courtois’ dominance; the Ukrainian has just recently joined the first team after arriving at the start of last season.

Lack of game time disappointed Lunin

According to reports, Lunin has grown disgruntled with his lack of playing time and is planning to depart Real Madrid this summer in quest of first team participation. A new backup keeper will therefore be needed before the following season. As an alternative, a fresh backup player might  be signed in the summer, much to how Jerzy Dudek or Diego Lopez were previously acquired.

Lunin should therefore leave the Bernabeu and look for a new challenge during the summer transfer  window. The 23-year old will reportedly try to leave Real Madrid at the conclusion of the current  campaign, according to Fichajes. According to the source, the youngster has caught the attention  of Premier League and  Bundesliga teams. Fichajes makes no mention of any potential suitors.  But for Lunin, the early indications are encouraging.

Madrid will replace Lunin with Luis Lopes as backup keeper

Real Madrid might accept the possibility of losing the Ukrainian goalkeeper in the meantime. They  have expressed interest in numerous goalkeepers, including Keylor Navas, which explains why. Choosing the best Courtois backup will be a crucial task for club executives as Real Madrid is anticipated  to be quite active during the summer transfer window, with Jude Bellingham likely to be the  headline deal. Real Madrid has a number of choices, with one likely being the promotion of Luis Lopes from third-choice keeper to Courtois’ backup.Lucas Canizares or Mario De Luis, though,might also  be given the job.
