Ancelotti claims he was “excited” to be the Selecao coach

Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian Manager said that the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF)  wants him to succeed Tite as coach. After Tite resigned in the midst of Selecao’s unexpected  World Cup 2022 quarterfinal defeat.

Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged the Brazilian national team’s interest in signing him and expressed  excitement about the possibility, but he stated on Saturday that he wanted to finish out his  Real Madrid contract.

The Italian said that the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) wanted him to succeed Tite as coach after  Tite resigned following the Selecao’s unexpected World Cup 2022 quarterfinal defeat. Ramon Menezes is presently serving as Tite’s replacement on an interim basis.

Ancelotti’s term with Real Madrid expires  in June 2024 and the 63-year-old veteran Italian swears he will respect it.

Ancelotti stated that while he is content with his brief tenure at Real Madrid. But, anything might happen in the future

“Yes, the reality is that the Brazilian national team want me, I love that and it excites me,”

Ancelotti told a news conference.

“After that, you have to respect the contract, a contract that I want to see out.”

“Everyone can say what they want, and then there’s the reality”

“In my case, it’s quite simple. I have a contract and I want to see it out, because I like Real Madrid, I like this club and anything that can happen after that is in the future, and nobody knows the future.”

The ex-Milan, Juventus, and Chelsea boss confessed he’s flattered by the interest from the Seleção but insisted he’ll remain in Spain until he’s no longer wanted.

“The rumors about my future? They don’t surprise me but they don’t bother me, either,” he said during his pre-match press conference.

“The only thing I’m thinking about is to stay at this club for as long as I’m here. Everything else is quite clear: I will continue as long as Real Madrid allow. We’re doing well and still fighting for titles. I have a contract and I want to continue. It’s simple. Nobody knows the future.”

Madrid forward Vinicius jr. recently said he “believes” his club coach wants to take the Selecao job and Ancelotti is flattered by the interest.

“The reality is that the Brazilian national team wants me; I love that, it’s exciting,” Ancelotti told a news conference before Madrid’s game against Real Valladolid. Madrid are currently second in La Liga table, trailing leaders Barcelona by 12 points.Ancelotti’s side host Real Valladolid on Sunday defeating them 6-0. They will be facing Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg on Wednesday.
