Arsenal weigh-up a move for Tariq Lamptey as a replacement for Hector Bellerin.

Joan Laporta, one of the favorites to win FC Barcelona presidential elections has committed to bringing back Hector Bellerin. Bellerin is a former La Masia graduate before moving onto Arsenal in 2011.

Spanish full-back is a regular for Arsenal. However, Gunners may be tempted to sell the Spaniard if a suitable offer arrives.

Tariq Lamptey, The Next Big Thing for Arsenal!

Lamptey made his Premier League debut with Chelsea in 2019. After completing a move to Brighton and Hove Albion in January, Tariq Lamptey has been nothing short of a revelation.

England under-21 international is one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League after his series of impressive performances.

The professional right-back has 4 assists and a goal in 19 appearances for Brighton. Arsenal has been keeping tabs on the development of Tariq Lamptey.

Gunners were interested to sign Lamptey in January 2020 but instead opted to sign Cedric from Southampton. According to Mirror, Gunners now believe he will be the perfect candidate to replace Hector Bellerin.

Brighton are keen to tie down Lamptey to a new deal amid interest from other clubs. Manager Graham Potter rates the young full-back very highly. Speaking ahead of Brighton’s clash with Fulham-

“He’s unique isn’t he? There is not another Tariq, that’s for sure. He gives you physicality and speed in the wide areas, which keeps the opposition on their toes in that particular area of the pitch”.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s boss persuaded Hector Bellerin to stay at Arsenal amid interest from PSG in the summer. The Spaniard has struggled with injuries at Arsenal and hasn’t reached the heights his early potential showed under Arsene Wenger.

It will be tough to make Hector Bellerin move on from Arsenal, where he has spent nearly 10 years. However, FC Barcelona believes the lure of playing for his home-town club could be enough to pull him away from the Gunners.
