Arsenal want to sell ‘fantastic’ £35 million player after getting frustrated with him

Thomas Partey - Arsenal

Arsenal have grown frustrated with Thomas Partey because of his repeated injury issues throughout his time at the club. The Gunners are ready to sell the midfielder in the January transfer window.

The Ghanaian has had yet another frustrating season for Arsenal. He has featured in only one Premier League game since the end of August.

Arsenal ready to sell Thomas Partey in January

Arsenal spent big for Declan Rice in the summer because they could no longer count on Partey to stay fit throughout the season. Rice is definitely a talented player and has been exceptional for the Gunners ever since joining the club.

Arsenal are once again in the title race and that makes the January transfer window very important for them. It appears that Arteta has now lost patience with Partey. He needs fit players to add depth to his squad, and not someone who’d be unavailable most of the time.

Tutto Juve reports that Arsenal want to sell the midfielder in January having grown frustrated with his inability to stay fit. The report adds that Juventus do want Partey. However, they do not currently have the money to spend on his wages or on a transfer fee. So clearly, that is likely to be a problem for the Old Lady.

Gunners may struggle to find a buyer

Tutto Juve has previously suggested that Partey could attract a £35 million offer from Saudi Arabia. But there won’t be too many suitors for the 30-year-old especially this January. Partey is set to return from injury in January but he’ll then leave to play the African Cup of Nations scheduled in January-February.

Whenever fit, Partey has been ‘fantastic’ for Arsenal. However, he has only played 15 minutes for the Gunners since August.

Arteta has how built his team around Declan Rice and has Jorginho as back-up in that position. The former Atletico Madrid man has become excess to Arsenal’s requirements and selling him would be beneficial for the club. Unfortunately, finding a buyer for the midfielder is going to be easier said than done.
