Aston Villa vs Arsenal team news – eight players ruled out

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Aston Villa will look to continue their unbeaten run at home as they face league leaders Arsenal. Villa leapfrogged Man City after a 1-0 victory over them on Wednesday. It was certainly a dominating performance for Emery’s team and their confidence would be soaring high coming into this game.

Arsenal on the other hand are coming into this game on the back of a scrappy 4-3 win over Luton Town. It was not a good performance from them, but a comeback victory always lifts confidence.

As Emery welcomes his former team to his new home, we are definitely in for an exciting game. Luckily, neither of the teams have any new injury concerns.

Arsenal injury list for the trip to Aston Villa

  1. Fabio Viera – He has a groin injury. He has gone through an operation and will be out for a few weeks.
  2. Takehiro Tomiyasu – After the game against Luton Town, Arteta confirmed the worst-case scenario for Tomiyasu’s calf injury. He is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks.
  3. Thomas Partey – He had taken a procedure to address his ‘significant’ thigh injury and is likely to miss the remainder of 2023.
  4. Emile Smith Rowe – He is facing a few weeks on the sidelines with a knee problem. He had only just returned to form having struggled with injuries last season.
  5. Jurrien Timber – He picked up a ACL injury in Arsenal’s opening fixture. He was expected to be out for the entire season but he may make a return sooner.

Villa’s injury list

  1. Bertrand Traore – He returned from international duty with an injury. However, he won’t be a massive miss because he has only played 10 minutes of football in the Premier League this season.
  2. Tyrone Mings – He is already ut for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign with a knee injury.
  3. Emi Buendia – He is expected to be out for the remainder of the 2023/24 season after suffering a knee injury in the start of August.
