According to several reports from Spain, Atletico Madrid are close to signing Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic in the coming days. The La Liga champions are in the market to sign a backup striker to Luis Suarez and listed Lautaro Martínez and Dusan Vlahovic as options. And as Inter Milan is not interested in selling Martinez, Atletico turned to Fiorentina for Vlahovic.
This summer, the 21-year-old is one of the hot targets following his form for Fiorentina in the last few years. The youngster has appeared 85 times for the Italian side in which he scored 31 goals. Last season, he was among the top four goal scorers in Serie A with 21 goals.
And as the summer transfer market opened top European clubs jumped upon Fiorentina for having Vlahovic’s signature. The list includes some top clubs such as Manchester City, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur. And following the popularity of the youngster Fiorentina priced the Serbian at €70 million.
As of now, two clubs are fighting for the 21-year-old’s signature and those two are Atletico and Spurs. And as per the latest reports, Atletico Madrid are leading the race to sign Vlahovic. However, the report also claims the Atletico are not ready to break their bank to sign Vlahovic.
Atletico are willing to give up to €50 million-plus add ons to Fiorentina for the youngster. While Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso is not ready to let the star go at a cheap price. If the right price is not put up, Commisso might stick to his decision to keep the youngster this summer and offer him a new improved contract. So, now it is all up to Atletico’s good negotiation skills to sign their target Vlahovic this summer.
