Pierre Emerick Aubameyang signed for Chelsea this summer. The Gabonese striker moved from Barcelona this season to shake hands with former coach Thomas Tuchel. Aubameyang had already agreed on personal terms with Chelsea and was very respectful to Barcelona to reach an agreement. Moving to Barcelona was one of the best decisions for Pierre. The striker felt at home in Barcelona and was the second top scorer, even though he arrived in January only. Xavi publicly admitted how he felt Aubameyang was a vital part of his plans and his squad.

Since his signing, many developments have taken place. Thomas Tuchel was sacked by Todd Boehly with Graham Potter coming in. Aubameyang has opened up about his club life in a recent interview.

” I’ve been through a lot of bad moments, not injuries. I was okay but at the beginning of my career, everyone was talking about me as a sprinter only. That hurt sometimes because you know where you’ve come from, you know you went through a lot of stuff and you always try your best and people say you’re not good at playing football.”

But Aubameyang was quick to point out that there were some people who supported him a lot. He drew reference to PSG boss Christopher Galtier and how he was always backing Auba.

” When I arrived in Saint-Etienne, I was happy because Christophe Galtier gave me confidence and it changed everything in my career. This is where I started scoring goals and felt like myself. I will forever be thankful to him as he never stopped believing in me”,

said the former Barcelona man. He was also quick to point out that at Dortmund also, he had someone like Tuchel who was always there for him.

Aubameyang talks Tuchel and Potter

Aubameyang joined Chelsea after knowing that Thomas Tuchel wanted him desperately. But it was short-lived happiness as Tuchel was sacked days after.

“Everyone knows the relationship that I have with Thomas. It’s obviously sad when someone leaves the club and obviously, I only saw him for a few days. But this is football and when you play football you have to adapt quickly and in some moments in the season, this can happen”,

Aubameyang said after Potter’s first game in charge.

He further said,

” I think Tuchel was a bit frustrated and sad. Obviously, I will try to talk to him as soon as possible. But now, I think Potter is a really positive person and a great character. We will try to learn with him and to win as soon as possible. I think his ideas are very clear so I think it’s going to be easy. It takes time to adapt to each other but I think it’s going to be ok.”
