Aurelien Tchouameni: Real Madrid targeting the Monaco ace

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Real Madrid have reportedly shifted their attention to AS Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni after failing to persuade Kylian Mbappe to join the club as per the report in Marca(via Metro).

The 22-year-old joined the Monégasques back in 2019 from fellow Ligue 1 side Bordeaux. The midfielder has enjoyed a productive campaign this term. He has scored three goals and assisted two times in 35 league appearances.

According to the report, Real Madrid are prioritizing a move for a young midfielder. And they have identified Aurelien Tchouameni will be a perfect fit for the club.

Meanwhile, previous reports claimed that Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG are all lining up a move for the 22-year-old. And the Red Devils’ new boss Erik ten Hag is an admirer of the Frenchman. And he could make a move for the youngster to strengthen their midfield.

Will Aurelien Tchouameni join Real Madrid?

Failing to sign Kylian Mbappe could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Real Madrid. Los Blancos have enough resources in their attacking department. Karim Benzema, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard are already in the squad.

So, strengthening the midfield and other departments will be more necessary. Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are approaching the wrong end of their career. So, replacing them will be a shrewd decision.

Meanwhile, the right-back spot is another position that needs reinforcements. Dani Carvajal has struggled with his injury problems in recent times. So, signing a new fullback will be an absolute necessity for the record European champions.

The Brazilian duo Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr have showcased that they have the talents to become the talismans of Los Blancos. Therefore, signing a young forward who will play as a deputy to Benzema will be a shrewd decision.

So, it will be interesting to see how Real Madrid will spend their money this summer.
